Write for us

Fresh Racing Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand horse racing without assuming specialist knowledge. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise outline is more useful than a finished article sent without context.

What we welcome

Pitch clear explainers, comparisons, histories, terminology pieces and thoughtful accounts of how race formats or course features work. We are interested in distinct subjects that can stand on their own and remain useful beyond a single news cycle.

What makes a strong pitch

State the proposed subject, the main point, who the piece is for and what readers will understand by the end. Flag specialist terms and explain how you would define them. Include the sources or material the piece would rely on, and disclose any relevant commercial interest.

Scope and care

We do not seek betting tips, guaranteed predictions, promotional copy or unsupported claims about horses, people or events. Keep distinctions between fact, interpretation and uncertainty visible. Do not submit confidential information or material you do not have permission to share.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then mark the message as a pitch. Include a working title and a short outline. A proposal is not a commitment to publish, and Fresh Racing Journal may edit accepted work for clarity and length.
